“I first found out I would need braces when I was going to have upper and lower jaw surgery to correct my sleep apnea. During the course of treatment, I was diagnosed with reoccurring thyroid cancer that had spread to my trachea. After cancer surgery, radiation and hyperbaric oxygen treatment I was able to proceed with my jaw surgery and then a few months later I came to the end of my orthodontics.
